Are you interested in  the exciting world of dock jumping?  SwimDog is the ONLY facility in the state to offer a full slate of opportunities to train and compete, plus we have an awesome group of people that have formed Team SwimDog, who are available to help out newbies and answer any questions if you are interested in competing.

2015 is the first year for Team SwimDog, not only have our students dominated competitions with many wins, but 4 dogs had earned invitations to the World Dock Dog competition in Nov. of 2015!  These same team members, plus more qualified and participated in the 2016 World Championships!

How to get started?

First thing is set up an Orientation/Swim Test at SwimDog.  This is required for all dogs to use our pool.  We need to make sure your dog is safe and comfortable getting in & out of the pool.  Once you know your dog is able to get in/out of the pool, and shows interest in jumping off the deck, you can try out our Dock Jumping Drop-in class, or schedule a lesson!

The ONLY indoor pool in Wisconsin set up for dock jump training, with

Speed Retrieve & Extreme Vertical rigs!

Nick Ludwig - I started dock diving 4 years ago at the Winnebago county fair at suggestion of my sister because Winnie was so athletic. About a year ago we really started trying to achieve more records and world championship invites.
-started dock diving in 2011
-achieved senior title with Winnie in 2012
-worked on speed retrieve and the chase method with not much luck in 2013
-In 2014 we came very close to qualifying for the Big Air senior division at regional championships and it gave us just enough taste of the apple that we have been chasing it since. Qualified through wild card for Dock Dogs Express speed retrieve in 2014 and finished 5th in the finals at Dubuque Iowa.
-In 2015 with much help from SwimDog Wellness we were able to start training for Extreme Vertical and Iron dog. We have been to numerous events throughout Wisconsin and Illinois this summer and have qualified for both Turbo speed retrieve and Iron Dog Warrior division for the 2015 DockDogs world champions.
Winnie and I also are avid waterfowl and upland bird hunters.

Dock Jumping Lessons

Want to have some FUN with your dog? How far can your dog fly?

Private lessons are a great way to get a beginner dog started.   Any of the three disciplines can be worked on during the lesson:  dock jumping, extreme vertical and speed retrieve.  The 3 important components of dock jumping will be emphasized:  speed, lift and take off.

Dogs must have completed the Orientation/Swim Test appointment in order to schedule dock jumping lessons to ensure that they are comfortable using the pool.
